Arc Herkimer Awarded Grant from NYSARC Trust Services to Support Guardianship and Recreational Programs
Arc Herkimer was awarded a grant from NYSARC Trust Services to support the agency’s guardianship and recreational programs this year.
Guardianship is one of the services Arc Herkimer offers to provide support for people with disabilities who would not otherwise have a legal guardian or advocate. Additionally, The NYSARC Trust Services grant also helps to provide amazing recreational opportunities for people supported by the Arc Herkimer.
This year, Arc Herkimer was able to utilize the recreation portion of the grant to purchase a Dynamic Interactive Floor that will support sensory activities, a completely accessible golf cart that will enable people to enjoy more programs at the agency’s MV Golf & Event Center, and a camping trip for the parental education program, among other opportunities.
Arc Herkimer Vice President of Supports & Services, Shawn Schultz said, “We are so excited to be able to continue to empower people and enrich lives throughout our community, and grants like these help us do exactly that.”
NYSARC Trust Services has administered supplemental needs trusts since 1972, helping more than 20,000 people with disabilities.
