Arc Herkimer is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors.
Where possible, a majority of the Board of Directors shall be persons with intellectual or other developmental disabilities, parents or blood relatives or the spouses of such persons, as defined in the Association’s By-Laws.
At no time may the Board of Directors be less than one-third parents or blood relatives of persons who have intellectual or other developmental disabilities, their spouses, or persons who have intellectual or other disabilities. A minimum of two members of the Board of Directors shall be individuals receiving agency services.
In the event that a vacancy occurs at any time, the Board of Directors shall not for that reason only be debarred from exercising its function of managing the business and affairs of the Chapter.
