Herkimer Industries Working to Educate and ‘Stop the Bleed’ Ahead of National Stop the Bleed® Day
Ahead of National Stop The Bleed® Day on Thursday, May 20th, Herkimer Industries is working to ensure that people are educated about the initiative’s importance.
Stop the Bleed® is one of our nation’s largest public health campaigns. Its goal is to save lives by training people across the country on how to stop the bleed, as uncontrolled bleeding is the number one cause of preventable death from trauma.
According to President/CEO Kevin Crosley, “Herkimer Industries’ is the sole assembly and distrbution warehouse for the entire Stop the Bleed® program nationally.” The Stop the Bleed® program is endorsed by The American College of Surgeons (ACS) and is administered by the ACS Committee on Trauma (ACS COT).
Personal kits, portable kits, wall-mounted stations, and specialized training kits are available for anyone to purchase on Herkimer Industries’ website.
Vice President of Industrial Operations Michael Lamb said, “What is really remarkable is that not only is the Stop the Bleed® program obviously a great cause, but orders for kits are providing jobs for people with disabilities and helping to fulfill our agency’s mission.”
